Who are our plans for?

If you have not been participating in any physical activity, but would like to have help getting started, or

Special Ironman Arizona Online Training Program.
Novice and Master Athletes are our specialty!

The plans are course specific and will be tailored to each individual athlete participating in our IM AZ training program. For out of state participants we will have a van tour of the bike course, and a bike tour of the run course, a day or two before the event.  Swimming in Tempe Town Lake is also available.

Each participant must complete a background questionnaire which includes athletic history, age, family status, medical history, type of bike and other equipment, goals, description of local training areas, etc.  

A hold harmless waiver must be signed and a release from his/her health care provider is also required. A heart rate monitor for training is also required.


Why a special course specific plan? The course is in my backyard; I have done IM AZ three times, with three podium finishes. It’s a natural!


Our training plan philosophy for an Ironman distance event includes the BMT periodization method; BUILD – MAINTAIN – TAPER.
This training theory was developed by TriRenaissance Coaching for first-timers, boomers, and seniors.

Cliff "Irongeezer" Eggink


Cliff Eggink is a USA TRIATHLON Certified Level I Coach.
Cliff is also a former USA Cycling Certified Coach.

In addition to the online coaching and personal coaching duties, Cliff is an avid kayaker, hiker, cyclists, runner, swimmer, and cross-trainer. He has competed in five Ironman triathlons, which included four podium finishes.
In November 2008, at Ironman Arizona, he earned a spot in the Ford Ironman World Championship to be held in Kona, October 10, 2009.

Online individual custom coaching 


Your custom tailored plans and training sessions will be sent to you via email on a weekly basis. The discipline to be performed, day of the week, duration, and intensity will be specifically detailed for you based on your individual goals.

Feed back between you and TriRenaissance Coaching via email will be unlimited

An in-depth athlete questionnaire (10 pages) must be completed. It will be specific and cover everything from your heart rate to current fitness level, lifestyle and background, medical history, time available to train, area you train in, goals, objectives, plus more - The basics needed to develop your individual plan.

If your goal is to complete one sprint or Ironman distance triathlon, race for years to come on a regular basis, just loose weight, or simply want an active “stay healthy” lifestyle plan, we will customize that plan so that you can realize your goals.

Our online plan can include a phone introduction, and the initial consultation in-depth questionnaire can be completed (60 – 90 minutes) during this consultation, if you would prefer that instead email.

Something new! A unique service from TriRenaissance Coaching, LLC - Simple online mentoring to supplement your present plan is also offered. We have found that many athletes have developed their own plan, but want some guidance on various details.

One-on-One personal individualized coaching and training program

This program is a combination of personal monthly one-on-one coaching sessions,  plus individualized specific training schedules sent to you weekly by email. Your schedules will include day of the week for each discipline, duration of activity, intensity, recovery and cool down.  You and your coach will meet once a month to review and assess progress.  This program includes unlimited feedback via email between you and your coach. Additional time (more than once per month) with your coach is also available.
Provided in the Scottsdale, Arizona area only.

As with all of our coaching programs an in-depth athlete questionnaire must be completed. It will be specific and cover everything from your heart rate to current fitness level, time available to train, lifestyle and background, medical history, goals, objectives, plus more - The basics needed to develop your individual plan. This will be completed during our first one-on-one start-up meeting. Our first meeting will last about 1 ½ hours.

TriRenaissance does not train elite or professional athletes, our speciality is age-grouper and novice athletes.
No annual dues or membership fees.
